Hannah Rowley, a year 10 student at Hartshill School recently attended the European Youth Archery Cup in Rovereto Italy. After a good ranking round Hannah managed to finish in the top 3 out of the GB girls that attended, therefore was a member of the Cadet Women’s Team. After shooting strongly through the entire event GB managed to secure a place in the bronze medal match. With some tough conditions to contend with they unfortunately lost their match against the German team finishing 4th out of the 10 countries competing the team event.
Individually Hannah performed well, she reached the 1/24 round where she came up against a GB team mate who was also having a strong competition. Hannah lost this match but by making this round was in the top 24 shooters out of over 50 International competitors.
This event marked a great achievement for Hannah, and she was extremely proud to represent her country on this stage, and performed well despite this being her first ever International tournament. It has motivated her to keep developing with the aim of hopefully competing in more events at this level.
Hannah’s long term goal is to compete at the Olympic Games for Team GB, with the opportunity of doing so at Paris 2024.
